Sanitary Pads. Panty Liners. Are they the same? Are they different? Well, they are both the same as well as different. HOW? We have the answers for you!!

Know More About Sanitary Pads!

Well, it won’t be wrong to assume that you know something about sanitary pads. Sanitary Pads are absorbent material designed to be attached to the underwear for absorbing the vaginal blood flow. Sanitary pads are often called sanitary napkins, menstrual pads, and simply the pads as well. They are used during menstruation, bleeding days after giving birth, miscarriage, or gynecologic surgery. The sanitary pads you commonly find in the market are usually made of bleached rayon (cellulose made from wood pulp), cotton, and plastics. Sanitary pads have wings that help the pads to attach more securely to the underwear.

Let’s Know Something About Panty Liners!

Panty liners are basically the smaller version of sanitary pads without the wings. Panty liners are thin absorbent materials that are meant to absorb light vaginal discharges. Be it white discharge or the light blood flow, panty liner is a go-to choice. However, you can’t rely on panty liners when the bleeding or discharge is heavy. Panty liners are quite small, almost similar to the size of an adult’s hand. They are made of cotton and have adhesive on the backside to help them attach to the underwear. Since panty liners are tiny, they don’t have wings.

What are the similarities?

  • Both panty liners and sanitary pads are worn externally. They are attached to the underwear with the help of adhesive.
  • Both of them have a similar function. They are meant to absorb the vaginal discharge.
