Jeans, Bedsheets, Towel, Furniture, and many more. Period blood commonly creates a stain on these. No matter how cautious and careful we get during menstruation, the period blood sometimes finds the way to escape out and create blood stains! Isn’t it one of the most annoying and embarrassing moments, ladies? Getting bloodstains when being extra careful to make sure you don’t get one is something we all hate. Well, since it’s not completely avoidable, it’s better to know some easy ways to remove the stain. Thanks to the multifunctional stuff we usually have in the house, you don’t need to panic even if there’s a little stain. Some of the widely used products that you easily find in your house are the ones that can surprisingly do a miracle in removing the period stain. Well, we’ve created a list of the hacks that you can give a try on stained clothes or bedsheets:

1. Simplest of all, Tap Water

Removing the blood stain with tap water is one of the simplest hacks for removing those period stains on your stuff. You can simply rinse the clothes on the running tap water for some time. If the stain is light and fresh, the tap water alone can remove the stain but it’s better to use soap or detergent. However, if the stain is quite heavy and dried out, rinse it once in the running tap water and then apply soap or detergent. Scrub till it foams heavily and rinse it off with the cold water. For extremely heavy and dried-out stain, repeat the process till you get it completely out. 

Note: Do not use hot water for removing the stain, it can worsen the stain instead of removing it. Always use cold water.

 

2. Salt Water Solution, You Surely Have It!

Salt, the most used substance in the kitchen is the working hack for removing harsh stains. Take some amount of salt (based on the area stained by the blood) and add a little water to the salt to make a thick paste.  Apply and spread the thick paste on the stained area and allow it to sundry. Once the paste is completely dried out, rinse it off with cold water. If the stain gets removed at once, well done! But if the stain is still not removed completely, repeat the process till you get a satisfactory result.

 

3. White Vinegar Solution, Always There for You.

You might have multiple uses of vinegar solution in various areas. Well, removing bloodstain is also one of the numerous functions of vinegar. White vinegar can be used to get out that annoying stain. Why white vinegar and not other ones? Well, you don’t want your clothes to be more stained with the colors of other fingers, do you? Pour or spray the white vinegar into the stained area and leave it for 10 minutes. Then, simply bot the area with a paper towel or a damp cloth. There’s your result! But if the stain is still there, apply the vinegar for few more times.

Note: If you want to get rid of the smell of the vinegar, simply rub the area with the wet cloth or wash it with cold water. 

 

4. Lemon Juice, Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy

Do you just love lemon juice? Well, you got one more reason to absolutely love it! Lemon juice can be an awesome lightening agent for bloodstains. The acidity of the lemon juice is what makes it a stain remover. You probably have it in your kitchen. If not, you can easily find some in the grocery store. Apply the lemon juice in the stained area and leave it for 5-10 minutes. Remove it by blotting it with a paper towel or simply rinsing it. Repeat as many times as necessary. You can even mix the lemon juice with baking soda for a more satisfactory result. 

 

5. Baking Soda can come in handy too!

Baking soda is the king of bakery items. But wait, that’s not it! Baking soda can be used to remove those unwanted period stains too. Make a thick paste of the baking soda by adding 2 parts of baking soda and one part of water. Apply the paste to the stained area and leave it for at least 30 minutes, an hour would be the best. Then, simply rub the area with a cloth or paper towel. Wash the cloth with cold water. If the stain doesn’t go at once, give it some more try! After all, you want that clean and stain-free cloth, don’t you?

 

6. Cornstarch Paste, A Useful Hack

Cornstarch is one of the common products in the kitchen that can be used to remove those unwanted period stains. Make the thick paste of cornstarch by mixing it with a little amount of water. Apply the paste to the stained area and gently rub the paste. Then, place the garment in a dry and sunny place. Let the garment dry in the sun for an hour. Remove the residue and wash the area with cold tap water. Don’t hesitate to repeat the process if the stain doesn’t come out at once. Well, it usually works on the first try, but just saying in case!!

 

7. Your Favorite Drink, Coke!

You might love Coke for the way it tastes and the way it makes you feel relaxed on a hot summer day. Let me add one more reason to the list, coke can be used to get rid of the embarrassing bloodstains. The carbonation and phosphoric acid in a coke can work wonders on bloodstains. To use coke for removing the stain, simply pour the can of coke directly into the stain and leave it until the stain is completely gone. Now you know what to do, simply rinse the cloth with the cold water and flaunt that neat dress!
